new noises

Jackson is beginning to discover a whole new world of sounds & noises which he can produce. It used to be the simple giggle, squeak, brrrrrrr (complete with drool coming out of the mouth). Recently, he has taken to screeching and squealing. Thankfully I was at the gym upon this discovery, but poor grandma...she got an earful! Here's a brief clip of him in action. Enjoy :)

"bring your child to work" day

Thursday was "bring your child to work" day so I brought Jackson to visit Bill at Innovative Engineering. We hung out for about a half hour, just long enough for Jackson to christen Bill's desk and stink up his office :)

Jackson's practicing how to eat with a spoon. He's still extremely clumsy and can't exactly find his mouth, but he does know one thing: when I break out the bowl & spoon it means food for him and he can't wait to gobble it up!! He acts as if he's never eaten before and is constantly starving. Boys will be boys? Maybe??

i just wanna swing

Since it was so nice outside today, I decided to stop at a local park and hang out with Jackson. I'm not exactly sure what I was thinking because all the poor guy could do was sit on my lap on the bench and stare longingly at all the big kids playing on the playground. I even tried to go down the slide with him...it didn't work out so well. Maybe in another month or two we can attempt a baby swing :)

So since I started Jackson on rice cereal and began supplementing with formula, he now has more than enough iron in his diet that one has ever needed! And we all know what a lot of iron can do to you when all you've been eating is mom's milk for the past five months!! I figured I'd spare you the picture of his pajamas which were so gross I decided I was better off just tossing them in the garbage rather than attempting to clean the stain & wash them...so here's a few of him enjoying the sun toy instead :)

fIVe MoNtHs oLd

Now that Jackson has reached five months, we've started feeding him rice cereal. I should post a before and after picture because I've learned to feed him right before bath time! This obviously is before...he's way too clean!! He's not so good at swallowing down the cereal. It's more of a slurp and half of it falls out onto the bib or out of his mouth as he blows bubbles at me :) But just like they say, "practice makes perfect!" He'll get it one day.
